[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Georgetown woman was refused bail when she appeared in court on Friday, May 22 to answer a charge of drug trafficking. Zainad Mohammed, 29 of 197 Pineapple Street, East Ruimveldt, appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Police prosecutors claimed that she tried to take 1.462 grammes of cocaine out of the country via the Ogle International Airport on Thursday, May 21, which was strapped to her body.
The woman was reportedly about to board a LIAT Flight scheduled for Barbados. Bail was refused for Mohammed after the prosecution objected, saying no special grounds were cited.
The matter will be called again on May 25.
