A Lamaha Street, Georgetown, resident is expected to make her court appearance on Monday (tomorrow) after she was caught with 69 live rounds of ammunition during a Police operation on Friday evening.
Reports are that the Police received a tip and went to the woman’s home where they conducted a search and found the ammunition.
According to a report in today’s Guyana Times, the ammunition ranged from .32 to 9mm bullets. The woman was arrested and is presently assisting with the investigations.
The Police recently revealed that a total of 46 firearms were seized from January to August 20: 23 pistols, 13 revolvers and 10 shotguns.
The highest number of seizures was recorded in A Division (Georgetown/East Bank Demerara) with 20 seizures, while F Division (interior locations) followed with 12.
