A 48-year-old woman was on Sunday morning robbed of her shoulder bag containing US$110 among other valuables while she was in the vicinity of Cummings Street, Georgetown.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Sonia Hernandez of Cummings, Georgetown.
Based on information received, the incident occurred at about 09:30h as Hernandez was walking along Cummings Street.
A lone perpetrator reportedly pounced on her and grabbed her bag. However, the woman reportedly put up a fight, up until the suspect whipped out a knife.
Based on information received, as the suspect was attempting to flee, he was reportedly struck by a car.
However, he still managed to make good his escape through a nearby yard.
The matter has since been reported to the police who are investigating.
