[www.inewsguyana.com] – Wolf’s Warriors are the new champions of the Guyana Softball Cup 4 when the event was held on Sunday at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.
The warriors were able to pull off the win against Regal XI in a thriller that saw them winning by a mere five runs.
Reaching a gettable target of 166 for 6 would prove drama filled than probably both teams expected with the game going right down to the over.
Ricardo Adams top scored for the Warriors with 53 runs and was eventually named the man of the match for the final.
Patrick Rooplall was the biggest runs getter for Regal XI with 30 to his name in the losing effort.
The win by Wolf’s warriors got the top prize of $800,000 while Regal was awarded $200,000 for their efforts.
Meanwhile, the Floodlight Softball Cricket Association won the master’s category by 64 runs against Savage.
In the female tournament, the game was abandoned in the seventh over after Mike’s Wellwoman complained about the uniform of the Trophy Stall Angeles being a distraction.
