[www.inewsguyana.com] – Shanella Webster braved a tense finish to beat the competition in this weekend’s Torginol Paints Golf Tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course,
Under the Medal Play format, Webster on Saturday (March 29) ended with net 64 having edged out the challenges of Kalyan Tiwari and Fazil Haniff.
Tiwari, also finished on net 64 but lost on a count back while Haniff took the third spot with a net 66.
Forth place went to Janice Prince after a count back with Vijay Deo and David Mohamad with scores of net 67.
Mohanlall ‘Santo’ Dinnanuth carted off the Best Gross with 73 and closet to the pin award went to Brian Hackett.
After the event, club Captain Chatterpaul Deo expresses his gratitude to the ground staff.
Deo said, “The good scores from players is a result of the course excellent condition” and “I credit them for the excellent job they have been doing”.
Mr. Kemraj Dhanraj and other members of the Continental Group of Companies, producers of Torginol Paint were on hand present the trophies.
In his brief comments, Mr. Dhanraj announced the companies continued sponsorship for the event next year.
