A man known to authorities as ‘Quarters’ of West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, who was implicated with the brazen daylight robbery committed on retired British soldier Edward Constant was positively identified by the ex-soldier during an Identification Parade at the Brickdam Police Station on Wednesday.
He was accused of relieving Constant of his jewellery and cash on Monday in the vicinity of the Stabroek Market Square. According to reports received, the man was arrested and placed on an ID parade where he was picked out by the soldier who congratulated the Guyana Police Force for their proactive work.
Constant returned to Guyana after 50 years to be a part of Guyana’s independence anniversary celebrations. Constant was a part of the British Army when Guyana gained its independence status and had promised to return when Guyana turned 50. His vacation turned bitter when he decided to visit the Stabroek Market Square. While there, he was attacked and robbed by an armed man, who took away the gold chain and a diamond ring he was wearing at the time. Police managed to arrest ‘Quarters’ on Wednesday morning.

Quarters is a RECYCLED career criminal,he will be out on the street next week,
Another APNU scum –if you put him in prison he will be release like so many others –so why waste time–the gov will give him a job in one of the ministries perhaps as a junior minister of crime.
In this equation,This is Guyana’s constant,Hope a pardon will not be the solution.
