Guyana’s Prime Minister, Moses Nagamootoo, in one of his speeches made during his recent visit to New York, which was captured on video, has created much uneasiness in the local political arena. During the speech, Mr Nagamootoo expressed the view that “you should have a President for only one term or five years” after which that leader should be changed since the “thieving” and corruption always start in the second term.

Naggas will do and say anything for power. What he does not see happening though is that he will not make it to the next election in his current post. Something got to give and the old PNC boys will takeover. The same way the ABC countries conspired and pressured (some would say orchestrated) the change we have now, the same way they will have to do it in the future. The only question is how long it will take…. 27 years? They did it in 1964, they did it in 1992, they did it in 2015 and only God knows when they will have to do it again.

In that case this government will be in trouble, because they have nothing that they have done so far. There is a lack of ideas. What will the president show as his legacy – that he condemn the other party policy yet all he did was implement all of it when he became president. How does this guy pass the bar as an attorney?
