Vergenoegen residents lament deplorable drainage situation

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Residents of Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo are suffering from improper drainage in their community, and once again the Neighbourhood Democratic Council is being blamed for the situation.

The residents are calling on the relevant authorities to look into the drainage issue, since numerous complaints made to the NDC fell on deaf ears.

During a visit to the area, iNews was told that the community is flooded every time it rains.  Residents noted that it is unfair for them to pay taxes and their problems are not addressed.

In this regard, the residents noted that perhaps they should discontinue paying taxes.
