A vendor was today granted bail in the sum of $20,000 when he appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell charged with assault.
Forty – Seven – year old Mark Roberts of 696 Caneville, Grove East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on June 24 at Hadfield Street Georgetown he unlawfully assaulted Clinton John.
According to the accused, on the day in question he and John had a misunderstanding about loading passengers unto a minibus.
Roberts said that the Virtual Complainant picked up a stick and dealt him a lash to his hand and in return he did nothing as was alleged by the V.C. Mark Roberts will return to court on July 10.[Royan Abrams]
