[www.inewsguyana.com] – A US citizen is currently in police custody after he was busted with approximately 40 pounds of cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) yesterday, Friday December 05.
The discovery was made by Ranks of the Police Narcotics Unit who conducted a search on the baggage the male American citizen who was an outgoing passenger on a flight to the USA.
The ranks found a total of 18 kilograms 295 grams [approximately 40 pounds] of cocaine concealed among baking powder and custard powder.
He is expected to be charged early next week.
