A US-based Guyanese man was, on Wednesday, allegedly stabbed to death by his cousin during an argument at Gun Hill Apartments in Ithaca, USA.
The dead man has been identified as 24-year-old Kennan Paul of New Jersey and formerly of Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Based on information received, the now dead man worked at a construction site in Ithaca where he was allegedly attacked and stabbed by his cousin. The Ithaca Police Department, in a press conference, stated that they would have received a report of a man being injured.
As ranks arrived at the location, they reportedly saw Paul lying outside of the apartment building at about 10:50h. At the time, he was bleeding and as such, he was transported to the Cayuga Medical Centre where he died.
At the news conference, Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick said that the stabbing was not a random attack and assured residents that they ought not to be afraid. He also confirmed that the suspect remains at large.
Brother of the dead man, former Journalist Jomo Brusheildon Paul when contacted stated that he did not have any other information other than what was reported in the media. INews was told that the now dead man migrated to the US in 2016.
The father of a 14-month-old baby was described as an easy-going person who always had his family at heart. The Police are continuing their manhunt for the suspect.
