[www.inewsguyana.com] – A TransGuyana aircraft just after noon on Tuesday (December 10) overshot the runway at the Ogle International Airport, East Coast Demerara.
Speaking on behalf of TransGuyana, Public Relations Officer of the Ogle Airport Kit Nacimento told iNews that the aircraft was an Islander which came from Kurupung – a mining community in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region – with six passengers on board.
He said the pilot reported that he experienced a partial break seizure which caused the aircraft to veer off to the side of the runway.
No one suffered any injuries nor was there any damage to the aircraft. The passengers were taken off and the aircraft has been sent for maintenance, Nacimento explained. He said the incident has since been reported to the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
