The male who was stabbed to death following an argument at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Sunday evening has been identified as a teenager, Ricardo Singh, 15, of Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
This is according to information from the police which stated that the lad’s body is presently at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
INews had reported that on the evening of Singh’s death, the teenager had just left a wedding house in the area when he became involved in a heated argument with a group of men.
This publication was informed that a brief scuffle followed the verbal altercation, during which one of the men whipped out a knife and stabbed Singh several times about his body.
At the scene, his intestines were seen protruding as he bled profusely.
He was reportedly picked up by police, but managed to somehow jump out of the vehicle as he was being transported to the police station. As such, Singh was allegedly left lying on the road until another patrol arrived at the scene.
The teen was subsequently pronounced dead at the East Demerara Regional Hospital.
One of the suspects was reportedly injured as a result of the fight, and is said to be a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
This online publication was told that thus far, two persons- one of whom is said to be a member of the Community Policing Group- are presently in police custody.
