[www.inewsguyana.com] – iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) has been reliably informed that three houses were completely destroyed in a massive fire that engulfed the Port Kaituma area early Friday morning (April 04).
iNews Citizen Reporters on the scene revealed that two shops were also burnt. A more up-to-date report from the scene indicates that the fire originated in the vicinity of an abandoned government bond which is close to the Port Kaituma police station.
Port Kaituma is known internationally as the area not far from the Jonestown Massacre of the late 1970s. There are no fire tenders in Port Kaituma which is the main hub for mining in the North West region.
