[www.inewsguyana.com] – Forty – year old Mark Crandon who was taken by bandits during an armed robbery against his associate, businessman Abdul Quadir Nazir, managed to escape unharmed last evening after jumping out of the hijacked black BMW which belonged to Nazir.
Nazir was shot on Wednesday evening, April 22 at his Canal No 1, West Bank Demerara home by one of four gunmen who ambushed him and hijacked the car with Crandon inside. Nazir, who operates a business on America Street Georgetown, was driving into his yard with Crandon, who is a mechanic, when the incident occurred.
According to a police report, the stolen car was recovered intact at Nismes, West Bank Demerara.
One of the businessman’s friends, who rushed him to the Georgetown Hospital last evening, told iNews that he has no known enemies and they strongly believe the incident was a mere robbery.
Nazir has been admitted to hospital in a stable condition as the investigations continue.
