In a media release the company stated that, “the DDL Driver has given a statement to the police and remains in their custody to assist with the investigation…DDL is saddened by the incident and offers heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased,” the release added.
The lad’s crushed body was left lying in the center of the road where villagers assembled in disbelief.
Murray’s distraught mother, Iris Dillon arrived on the scene only to confirm her worse fear after she raised the white sheet that covered her son’s lifeless body. The woman is a mother of six who works as a security guard at the Supply Primary School.
The lad would have celebrated his 13th birthday in two weeks and was expected to return to Trinidad where he was born.
