[www.inewsguyana.com] – No one was injured last evening (Sunday, June 29), when gunmen opened fire during a robbery at the Energy Plus Gas Station, East Coast Demerara.
iNews learnt from a police source that the bandits opened fire in the air, around 09:00 hrs, after robbing the gas station of several hundred thousand dollars.
Residents had indicated that they heard about four shots coming from the direction of the gas station which also operates a supermarket.
Police investigators were able to recover spent shells from the scene. However, this news outfit was unable to ascertain what kind of weapon was used in the commissioning of the crime.
It was iNews that first broke the story of the armed robbery.
