[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of a young woman has been located by divers in the Demerara River after the Canter Truck she was in, drove over the Demerara Harbour Bridge.
She has been identified as 22-year old Gangaday Persaud of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, who was a mother of one.
iNews has also confirmed that the Canter was also located and efforts are being made to recover both the woman and the vehicle. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still unclear at this time; however iNews understands that the driver of the vehicle, who is also the woman’s boyfriend, was reversing on the Bridge at the time.
According to reports, the Canter was filled with vegetables and that the driver reversed to pick up a bag of Boulanger that fell out the vehicle.
iNews had reported that Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken confirmed that the boyfriend of the woman stated that they were on their way to the Plaisance market when he lost control of the truck and went over the Harbour Bridge between 5 – 5:30 hrs on Sunday, November 08, 2015.
