[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of the child which was found in a canal in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown has been identified as that of 9 – year 0 old Shaquan Gittens, who was reported missing on April 01.
This was confirmed by family members who were at the scene. Gittens’ body was found face down in the canal with his pants missing and his T – Shirt rolled up to his chest. Investigators are of the view that the lad might have been sexually assaulted.
Gittens was last seen by relatives around noon on April 01 when he went home to have lunch. His mother, Doysha Gittens told iNews on Saturday, April 03 that she left the youngster in the care of his 15-year-old brother and went to work on the day.
However, neighbors reported seeing the lad late into the afternoon flying a kite in the streets.

It is so sad to me to hear about this. I can’t imagine the pain his parents are experiencing right now. May God show them the way to withstand all the pains and sufferings after learning about his passing. If he was abused, then whoever do such an act should be punished severely.
OH! What a tragedy My prayers and heart felt sympathy goes out to the parents and family of this young lad. May the legal authorities do all that is possible to solve this case and if someone is involved bring them to swift justice. RIP. kid.
