Update: Bandit shot dead by Businessman

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Businessman Eon Evans of Dazzele Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara today (Wednesday, January 29) shot and killed a bandit who invaded his privacy and business place in an attempt to rob him and his wife.

The man operates a grocery store at the corner of 4th Street Dazzele Housing Scheme. iNews understands that three bandits tied up his wife, who was in the lower flat of the building where the business is operated.

The men then went upstairs to the businessman, who was sleeping in his bedroom and woke him up.

At this point in time, it is not clear how the shooting exactly took place. iNews could not confirm if the bandit was shot with the businessman’s weapon or if the businessman was able to wrestle a weapon from one of the three bandits.

The police are on the hunt for the other bandits, who managed to escape.

The businessman lives at the location with his wife and two children. The children were at school when the incident took place. At the moment several residents of the community have gathered at the scene even as the police maintain a heavy presence in the area.

Additionally, iNews was told that the dead bandit is 15 – years – old and was fingered in a murder recently. However, this has not been confirmed.
