– injured pilot rushed to hospital
The pilot of the crashed Wing’s Airline aircraft, Dominique Waddell, was this afternoon brought down to the Eugine F. Correia Airport at Ogle by a Roraima Airways flight.
His family members were also seen and heard interrogating airline officials as to the injuries the pilot sustained.
A representative of Wing’s airline told INews at the scene that even though Waddell was seen being transported on a stretcher and into an Army ambulance, these were just precautionary measures and that the man was not visibly injured.
The pilot was taken to a private city hospital.
Captain Gerry Gouveia Jr, attached to Roraima airways, explained that while he does not know of the details surrounding the crash, his airline assisted with bringing the injured man down from the interior location.
During the latter part of this morning, INews had reported that the Cessna aircraft had just taken off from the Eteringbang airstrip in Cuyuni when the plane “fell out of the sky.”
Just two weeks ago, an airplane attached to Roraima Airways crashed in the hinterland regions, resulting in the death of its pilot.
Investigations are ongoing. (Photos by Carl Croker)
