A 69-year-old unvaccinated woman from Region Ten (Upper Demerara-Berbice), who was infected with the novel coronavirus, has died.
This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1009.
The total positive cases recorded to date have also risen to 38,261 after 44 new cases were detected.
There are 16 persons in the ICU, 50 in institutional isolation, 867 in home isolation, and four in institutional quarantine.
Recoveries stand at 36,319.
