Two males were this afternoon arrested in connection with the discovery of an unlicensed semi-automatic pistol in one of their East La Penitence homes by ranks of the Guyana Police Force.
INews understands that Police ranks, acting on information received, went to the home of a 52-year-old vendor at East La Penitence Squatting Area, and conducted a search in his presence, during which the illegal weapon was found.
The suspect alleged that it was given to him by a cousin who, when contacted, admitted same and was arrested.
A Ballistic test will be conducted to determine if the weapon was used in the commission of any crime. The investigation continues.
