A third-year Engineering student of the University of Guyana on Friday made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, slapped with a wounding charge.
Orin Wilson, 41, of 160 Cornelius Avenue, South Ruimveldt Gardens, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on December 3, 2015 at South Ruimveldt, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Carvel Profitt with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
His attorney made a successful application for bail stating that her client has no pending matter in Court and is also a father of two children.
The prosecution’s file on the matter was not complete. As such Magistrate McLennan granted bail in the sum of $75,000 and the matter is set for him to appear in court again on April 12 for statements.
