According to the police, at about 17:30h yesterday Sunday June 30, Jerome Hackett, 60 years, of Phoenix Park, West Bank Demerara was driving his motor cycle along the Den Amstel Public Road, West Coast Demerara, when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete bridge.
He received injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Additionally, at about 21:55h last night, Jagdeo Thakurdeen, 37 years, of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara was struck down by a motor car as he was walking along the Good Hope Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.
According to the police, he was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Police stated that the driver abandoned the motor vehicle and fled the scene. He has not yet been arrested and investigations are in progress, the police said.
