[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men are now dead after they were involved in separate road accidents on Sunday; one at Foulis, East Coast Demerara and the other at Queenstown Essequibo.
According to a police statement, 38-year-old Deryck Glasgow of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was walking along the Queenstown Public Road when it is alleged that he attempted to cross the roadway and was struck down by a motor vehicle.
Glasgow received injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Hospital. Police say the driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Meanwhile, 38-year-old Saturjeet Roopchand of Enmore, East Coast Demerara died after he was struck by a motor vehicle.
According to police, Roopchand allegedly rode out of an access road onto the main roadway and was struck down by a motor vehicle. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The driver of the motor vehicle involved in that accident is also in police custody assisting with the investigations.
