[www.inewsguyana.com]– The police are currently investigating two separate road accidents which occurred yesterday (Sunday, November 23), in which two persons lost their lives.
Reports are that at about 16:30 hours at No. 68 Village Public Road, Corentyne an accident occurred which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist 76 – year – old Dhanraj Doodnauth.
Investigations have revealed that a motor car was proceeding along the roadway allegedly at a fast rate and collided with the pedal cyclist. He was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver of the car is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Meanwhile, at about 17:40 hours yesterday another accident on the No. 10 Public Road, West Coast Berbice caused the death of motor cyclist 28 – year – old Dilchand Angad, of Plantation Hope.
Investigations into this accident revealed that Angad was driving a motor cycle along the roadway when he overtook a minibus and collided with a motor lorry that was travelling in the opposite direction.
He received injuries and was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
