…Third person identified

The three men who were apprehended after leading the Police in a high speed chase around Georgetown yesterday are expected to be placed in an Identification (ID) Parade to reveal if they are linked to any unsolved criminal cases.
This was confirmed by “A” Division Deputy Commander, Calvin Brutus. He could not confirm however, when the parade will be conducted.
Brutus also told Inews that so far, there has not been any reports to suggest that the car used by the three men was stolen.
The trio, one of whom is an ex-officer of the Guyana Police Force, were arrested after ranks spent almost an hour chasing after their suspicious car.
Initially, the ranks observed a heavily tinted motor car with what they suspected was a fake number plate and approached same. However, upon realizing the police were closing in on them, the occupants of the motor car sped away and, in response, the police gave chase.
The driver of the motor car reportedly lost control of the vehicle at the corners of Lamaha and Republic Streets, Georgetown and ended up in a ditch.
During interrogations, two of the men gave their identifies as Eloy Livan, 28, of Lot 47 Richards Town, Lusignan, East Coast Demerara and Devon Chase, 30, of Hill Street Albouystown.
The third suspect who refused to cooperate with the police has since been identified as Frederick Boyce of Melanie, East Coast Demerara.
A 9mm pistol and 10 live rounds of ammunition were also found at the scene. A ballistic test will be conducted soon.
