A 36-year-old caterer of Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown,was on Monday night robbed at North Road between Alexander and Bourda Streets, by three bandits, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
According to the Police, at about 19:10hrs the victim, in the company of three male friends, parked his silver grey Toyota Premio motorcar PTT 8405 on North Road. They exited and were heading to Bourda Market when the were confronted by the three bandits.
This publication was informed that the robber who was armed with the handgun demanded the key for the motorcar. After refusing to comply, the victim received several lashes to his head with the gun and subsequently fell to the ground, the other three friends reportedly ran away.
The armed bandit picked up the car key entered the vehicle with his other accomplices and escaped with the victim’s cellular phones heading west of North Road.
Police say they are investigating the incident but up to the time of publication no arrests were made.
