Update: Trinidadian UWI student killed in Industry accident

A 20-year-old Trinidadian student of the University of the West Indies (UWI) succumbed while being treated at a city hospital after she was struck while attempting to cross the Industry Public road, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Wednesday afternoon.
Dead is Shivanan Brazlon who was said to be currently residing at Lot 384 Seventh Field, Cummings Lodge, ECD.
INews understands that at around 17:45h, the deceased and her fiancé, 25-year-old Micheal Yearwood were crossing the above mentioned road from north to south when motorcar, PLL 9039, which was being driven by a pilot, of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, struck her.
Brazlon was quickly picked up and rushed to the Woodlands Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at around 23:00h.
This publication was informed that the pilot is in police custody as the matter is being investigated.
