- to facilitate unveiling ceremony of 50th Anniversary Independence Arch at Agricola
Commuters plying the East Bank Demerara (EBD) roadway tomorrow morning will “most likely” have to spend hours in a build up of traffic as they head to and from their destinations.
According to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MPI), the general public should be informed that there is a “possible traffic disruption” along the East Bank Demerara public road, between the villages of Houston and Providence.
It said this disruption is expected to occur from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs to facilitate the unveiling ceremony of the 50th Anniversary Independence Arch at Agricola.
With this in mind the ministry further advises road users to pay attention to special arrangements that might be put in place to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
“Please also comply with all instructions issued by officiating police officers. We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused,” the ministry stated in a press release.
