[www.inewsguyana.com] – The top aquatic athletes will be on show this weekend when the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) stages their Inter-Club swim meet at the National Aquatic Centre, Liliendaal.
Keen action is expected in the boys and girls 8 years and under, 9 to 10 years, 11 to 12 years, 13 to 14 years and 15 and over when the leaves the starting blocks from 13:00.
According to a release from GASA, the – two day tournament- Spanning Saturday and Sunday- will utilize 10 lanes and the full length of the National Aquatic Centre’s pool.
Clubs expected include Dorado, Sliver Shark, Dolphin and Orca Clubs while non affiliated members can also be a part of the event.
GASA says that interested swimmers not affiliated to clubs can compete but points allocated will not go to any club.
Those unattached swimmers are required to pay a registration fee of $500.00 per event at least two (2) events prior to their desired event of competition.
FINA technical rules will apply during the two-day meet unless otherwise agreed upon by the affiliated clubs with warm up time billed for 12:00. Admission is free.
