Three years jail for Albouystown man found guilty of cocaine possession

[www.inewsguyana.com]Aubrey Reid was today sentenced to three years imprisonments together with $10,000 fine, on drug trafficking charges by Magistrate Judy Latchman.

The 44 – year – old of Albouystown, who made his first court appearance before Magistrate Ann McLennan on January, 15, 2014, previously pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Particulars of the offence stated that on January 11 at Waterloo Street, Georgetown, he had two grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

At his first appearance, the Court heard that a police patrol saw the defendant in Globe Yard located on Waterloo Street. A search was carried out on his person and a film container containing the illegal substance was found.

During the trial, two witnesses were called to testify and based on the evidence provided he was found guilty as charged.
