Three persons are expected to be placed before the courts on Wednesday for the brazen daylight robbery committed on the Bank of Boroda branch at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara on Friday last.
It was reported that four masked gunmen stormed Bank of Baroda at Mon Repos and carted off an undisclosed sum of cash.
According to information, the four bandits invaded the Bank on the ground floor of the Mon Repos Mall at about 12:50hrs, and relieved the female security guard of her .32 service revolver.
The men then held up two female tellers at gunpoint and relieved them of money. No customer was doing business at the time of the robbery.
After committing the robbery, the four exited the building and escaped in a waiting silver-grey Toyota Primo car bearing license plate PNN 8984. The police stated that the plates were false.
Upon receiving the report, the police swiftly erected road blocks at strategic locations but the car was not seen. The surveillance footage has since been handed to the police as they continue to investigate.
