Chaos ensued for hours this evening at the Demerara Harbour Bridge where passengers and commuters were left stranded reportedly as a result of an accident on the DHB involving two trucks. Long lines of vehicles – as many as five-lanes in some areas, were seen along the East Bank road leading up to the DHB on Monday night as thousands of frustrated commuters try to get over the bridge to their homes in West Demerara. Up to 21:30 hrs Monday night, traffic was moving at a snail’s pace and the situation was sheer confusion and chaos.
