According to the police, at about 15:30h today, a boat ferrying passengers from Port Kaituma to Mabaruma struck a log in the Barima River, North West District, causing passenger Shevonne Anthony, 19 years, to fall overboard.
She is believed to have drowned and her body is not yet recovered.
