Nineteen – year – old Joiner, Melon Viveros of Spring Garden, Essequibo Coast lost his life early this morning, Wednesday September 12. According to reports, the young joiner was returning home at around 03:00h from a wedding house when he was crushed to death by a canter.
Reports indicate that the young man probably had consumed too much alcohol and mistook the public road for his bed when the canter lorry that reportedly had difficulty with one of its headlights drove over him, smashing his head.
Mother of the dead young man, Nandanie Persaud in tears said that her son enjoyed himself at the wedding house and performed as a DJ for the large crowd, not knowing it was his last entertainment.
The driver of the canter lorry is in police custody assisting with investigations. Viveros leaves to mourn his mother and four siblings. [Rajendra Prabhulall].
