A 19-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital after his motorcycle collided with a hire car on the Patentia Public Road, West Bank Demerara earlier today (Tuesday).
The teen, who was described as being seriously injured, has not yet been identified by this online publication.
While details remain sketchy, INews was told that hire car HC 7212, being driven by a former estate worker, was allegedly travelling at a fast rate when he collided into the motorcyclist, who was not a wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The motorcyclist was said to be speeding as well.
The youth was tossed some distance away and reportedly suffered broken bones, teeth and injuries to the groin area.
Eyewitnesses related that the teen, who was bleeding profusely, was picked up by the driver of a Toyota Tundra who assisted in transporting the injured man to the hospital.
The taxi driver however, reportedly sustained minor injuries and has since been taken to the Wales Police Station.
An investigation has been launched.
