A security guard was earlier today allegedly murdered by his 16-year-old stepson in what appears to be an act of rage at his home located at Crane on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD).
The dead man, identified as Patrick, worked at the Aracari Resort in the evenings.
INews understands that after delivering several chops about his stepfather’s body with a cutlass, the teenager ran out of the house drenched in blood.
He then fled the scene and was subsequently discovered by two neighbourhood men hiding away in some nearby bushes.
He was then handed over to the police.
The suspect who is now in police custody, was described as a ‘dope-head’ by neighbours. They related that the young man had a strained relationship with his stepfather over that reason. Neighbours also related that the young man was put out of the house since last year.
The dead man’s wife is currently residing overseas.
Police are continuing their investigations.
