A 17-year-old male was on Sunday evening electrocuted just after he stepped out of his Canal No. 2 Polder, West Bank Demerara (WBD) home.
Dead is Vivek Bridgemohan of Alliance, Canal No.2 Polder, WBD.
According to information received, the teenager left his home at around 19:00hrs last evening and came in contact with a live wire that reportedly fell from a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) utility pole.
Due to there being reports of blackout in the area, this publication was informed that the teen was unable to see the wire.
As such, he was electrocuted and subsequently pronounced dead at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
