The two accused in the brutal murder of a Mahaicony businesswoman appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court earlier today, following the Director of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) recommendation to have them charged for the crime.
Davanand Rampersaud, 24, of Rosignol, West Coast Berbice and Goed Faith, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara and his 14-year-old accomplice were not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that between October 15, 2016 and October, 17, 2016 at Lot 4 Novar Mahaicony, they murdered 56-year-old Bibi Shairoon Nesha Ali, during the course of a robbery.
The matter was transferred to the Mahaicony Magistrate Court and the two accused are expected to reappear on November 14, 2016.
