[www.inewsguyana.com] – The second night of the Busta Soft Shoe saw five of the six games ending with a winner when the tournament continued on Saturday evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
Cross Street started the night in the winner’s row with a 3-1 win over Queen Street Tiger bay. Sheldon Profit led the way with a double in the third and 11th minutes while Shalomo Marks scored in the 18th minute.
Deon Alfred’s opening goal in the second minute was not good enough to motivate the Tiger bay team.
Game four was the highest goal scoring game of the evening when Bent Street unloaded on North East La Penitence with a 6-2 win with Konata Manning and Daniel Wilson leading the way with doubles.
However, in total contrast game two of the evening, was a first for the tournament, only producing one goal when Back Circle crept pass West Back Road 1-0 with Kevin Boters scoring the game’s only goal.
Meanwhile the only draw of the night was between, North Ruimveldt and Globe yard which ended 1-1.
In the fifth match of the evening, Festival City prevailed 4-1 over Kitty Weavers in a display of unselfish play.
Festival City was clearly the better side with each goal coming off an assist as four different scorers rocked the back of the net despite Kitty’s Sherwayne Vincent opening goal in the ninth minute.
Keith Fletcher equalized in the 15th minutes while Eon Alleyne, Daniel Favorite and Stellon David went onto score in the 17th, 21st and 28th minutes respectively.
