Acting Crime Chief Paul Williams, on Monday, posited that investigators will solve the heinous murder of 22-year-old school teacher Kescia Branche who died three days after being found beaten and unconscious around the intersection of Princess Street and Louisa Row, Georgetown.
This publication understands that police have been provided with nine statements detailing and corroborating events that surrounded the teacher’s killing.
Williams informed media operatives that the Constitutional rights of the three suspects who were detained are being preserved as an order was granted for police to further hold the father of Branche’s child and two policemen who reportedly transported the teacher from a night spot while supposedly waiting for a taxi to another location.
Branche, who resided in Cummings Lodge, Greater Georgetown was last seen on November 4, when she left for a night out with her friends.
As the probe continued into the gruesome attack, investigators had hauled in the father of the young teacher’s daughter for questioning.
INews understands that the man was reportedly found with a cell phone belonging to the now dead teacher and allegedly lied to police about his whereabouts on the night the young woman was reportedly attacked.
Moreover, upon examining the device, which the suspect said was found in Branche’s apartment after her battered body was found on Sunday last, detectives came across a cell number that got their attention.
The unconscious body of the Richard Ishmael Secondary School teacher was found in the vicinity of Princes Street and Louisa Row, Georgetown on Sunday morning (November 4) and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she remained in an unconscious state on life support until Tuesday last when she succumbed to her injuries sometime around 17:00 hrs.
