Taxi Driver’s license suspended for causing death by dangerous driving

DSC05039Twenty – Five – year old Leron Griffith was today remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman for the offense of causing death by dangerous driving.

Griffith, a resident of Festival City, was attached as a taxi driver at Green Ice Taxi Service. He pleaded not guilty to the offense.

It is alleged that on May 31 at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown Griffith drove Motor Car HC 2408 in a dangerous manner causing the death of Feng Zu Fang.

Based on the seriousness of the offence and the penalty it attracts, bail was refused.

Based on the advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Griffith’s license was suspended pending the termination of the matter.

The Magistrate refused bail and Griffith will return to court on September 10.
