[www.inewsguyana.com] – Investigations are being conducted into an armed robbery committed on taxi-driver Imran Khan of De Hoop, Mahaica, which occurred at about 11:30hrs today, Monday November 10, at Enmore, East Coast Demerara and during which he was shot and injured.
According to a police media release, investigations revealed that Khan was hired by a man who had travelled to a city bank to transact business and who had stopped at a business place at Enmore, leaving a bag in the vehicle.
While Khan was waiting in the vehicle, two men rode up on a motor cycle and one of them shot him to his left shoulder and took away the bag with $1.5M and escaped. Khan has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment.
