Taxi driver, 38 – year – old Michael Lewis of 65 Sheriff Street Campbellville Georgetown today pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery underarms, when he appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan.
The allegations state that on July 1 at 110 Carmichael Street North Cummingsburg Georgetown, armed with a handgun, attacked and robbed the accounts clerk at the woodlands hospital and carted off with $1.1M in cash.
The accused was represented by Attorney-at-Law Gordon Gilhuys, who told the court that his client did not commit the offence and that when the police searched his client nothing was found in his possession that would have implicated him.
Based on the allegations presented in court the magistrate remanded Michael Lewis to prison with his next court date set for July 19. [Royan Abrams]
