The Ministry of Public Works has dispatched engineers and technical officers to assess the situation in Georgetown in light of heavy rainfall over the past few hours. A report is expected to be presented to the subject Minister, Bishop Juan Edghill in one hour for the Capital City.
An inter-agency Task Force comprising of representatives from the Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Public Works, National Drainage and Irrigation Authority and the Mayor and City Council has already been established.
The Ministry wishes to assure the general public that everything is being done to ensure that the risk of damage and interference to homes and businesses are minimized.
