[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is getting ready to host the Digicel school table tennis tournament scheduled for October 30 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The event is expected to highlight some of the nation’s top talent while unearthing new talent in the sport. The tournament will have five categories in the under 11, 13, 15 and 18 categories; there will also be a novice category included. The tournament is expected to last until November 2.
Meanwhile, the GTTA has named a four member squad for the second leg of the Inter Guiana Games (IGG) set to start from October 23 in Suriname.
The squad will comprise of four active players along with two standby players; of the active players the team will be split evenly into male and female.
The male squad will feature; Kyle Edghill, Elishaba Johnson and the standby Kevon Corbin. The female team will comprise of Priscilla Greaves, Selenas Jackman and standby Anjelina Persaud.
