[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Leonora Synthetic track is expected to open on March 27, according to a press release from the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG).
The track, like all other facilities is governed by the Ministry of Sport and the National Sports Commission. The AAG release notes that the facility which is being built for athletics will get to see 30 minutes of action from Guyana’s top athletes.
Due to the limited time, it was said via the release that the AAG will aim to showcase most of their junior athletes that will be preparing for the Carifta Games over the shorter distances such as the 100 metres.
The opening is also said to be an evening event that will include other aspects being organised by the NSC and the Ministry of Sport.
