[www.inewsguyana.com] – A suspected bandit was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday morning (May 29) after he was shot in the neck by an on duty police rank.
His identity is not yet known. iNews was informed that the suspected bandit attempted to break into the Household Plus Store on Regent Street, Georgetown when the police were summoned.
When the police arrived on the scene, they spotted the man and fired a warning shot in the air at which point he reportedly advanced to the police ranks with a chopper, forcing one of the ranks to shoot him.
He fled the scene and ran to Robb Street but was chased down by the police, who discovered him lying motionless on the roadway. The police were able to recover the chopper and the matter is under investigations.

It is alleged that the suspect reportedly advanced to the police ranks with a chopper, forcing one of the ranks to shoot him.
If this is indeed so, then killing him in defense of his advancement and threat to Police lives is justified.
